Common Problems in the Installation of High-Altitude Suspended Platforms 2025.11/13

I. Common Problems in the Installation of Suspension Devices

1. The construction site does not have the conditions for installing the front support, and the beam needs to be placed on the parapet:

(1) First, confirm whether the parapet can bear the maximum load generated by the high-altitude suspended platform during operation;

(2) If it is confirmed that the parapet can bear the load, effective measures can be taken to fix the beam or securely clamp it on the parapet to prevent the beam from slipping or tipping over;

(3) If it is confirmed that the parapet cannot bear the load, the beam cannot be installed on the parapet.

2. The beam is too long or the beam is installed too high, exceeding the range specified in the product manual:

(1) The manufacturer of the high-altitude suspended platform must provide a special construction plan and design calculation for the special suspended platform;

(2) It can only be put into use after expert review, demonstration/assessment, and confirmation of safety. 3. If the standard suspension device of the high-altitude work suspended platform cannot be installed at the construction site, a special suspension device must be installed:

(1) The special suspension device must be manufactured and provided by the manufacturer of the high-altitude work suspended platform;

(2) The manufacturer of the high-altitude work suspended platform must provide the corresponding special construction plan, design calculation and factory inspection report;

(3) It can only be put into use after expert review, demonstration/assessment and confirmation of safety.

II. Common Problems in Installing Suspended Platforms and Related Components

1. The installation length of the platform exceeds the range specified in the product manual

(1) The manufacturer of the high-altitude work suspended platform must provide the design calculation and factory inspection report;

(2) It can only be put into use after expert review, demonstration/assessment and confirmation of safety.

2. Attaching an auxiliary platform to the side of the main suspension platform

(1) The manufacturer of the high-altitude work suspended platform must provide the design calculation and test report;

(2) It can only be put into use after expert review, demonstration/assessment and confirmation of safety. 3. Installation of special-shaped platforms other than rectangular platforms

(1) The manufacturer of the suspended platform for high-altitude operations must provide a design calculation and type inspection report;

(2) It may only be put into use after expert review, demonstration/assessment, and safety confirmation.

III. Troubleshooting of common problems with wire rope installation

1. The wire rope does not pass smoothly through the hoist or safety lock

(1) Check whether the wire rope head is regular and grind it if necessary;

(2) Check whether the rope entry channel of the hoist or safety lock is unobstructed.

2. The wire rope is too long

(1) The excess wire rope can be left above the hanging point of the suspension device;

(2) After fixing the wire rope at the hanging point, wind the remaining wire rope into a coil and hang it on the front support.
